January-February

January-February

Once again, at the beginning of each month, every two months since this chart contains two months, I am posting a formidable list of things to study and do, that I prepared at the beginning of the school year.  Perhaps some small thing of it might bless your life, which is why I’d be so audacious as to share this whole list with you.  Believe it or not, I couldn’t have ever finished this list, this gift to myself, if I didn’t have the goal to blog and share it!  I love sharing, maybe its my insecurities coming out to love being helpful.   So thank you for obliging and letting me share with you…so I can help myself!  Of course reading it myself reminds me how ‘behind’ we are, and that is somewhat depressing, never the less it does help to have some plans.  And I for one need to write down things as I have SUCH a LITTLE brain on my own when juggling all that I juggle.  Ok, the news has leaked, I am not a multi-tasker.  Please let me not fool you that we get more than 20% of this done. ;)   But here is a brain for myself when otherwise it flies out the window.

For ME to Nibble off the following for the months of January and February:

PoemHow do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.Elizabeth Barrett BrowningSuccess is speaking words of praiseIn cheering other people’s ways

In doing just the best you can

With every task and every plan.

Its silence when your speech would hurt

Politeness when your neighbor’s curt.

It’s deafness when scandal flows,

And sympathy with other’s woes.

Its loyalty when duty calls,

Its courage when disaster falls.

Its found in laughter and in song.

Its in the silent time of prayer,

In happiness and in despair.

In all of life and nothing less,

We find the thing we call success.

  1. Thanks for sharing, Emily! Sometimes I forget how green I really am, and it’s nice to peek at what you’re doing. You’re amazing and so organized!

    • Jenn,

You aren’t green at all, I only do the scriptures and poems consistently and only then because I have it in a sheet protector. When I will get these other things under way…maybe in a few years???? But if not, its ok.

I loved what you said, also about 9 days off and one day on for homeschool…so comforting! You inspire me so much in what you do, so so so much. It is I to thank you.

      Emily

  2. The great thing about this is you can use it year after year as you gradually do this and or that from it. A great compilation of grand adventures in learning!
