Heavenly Love Note Jar:
Many of you have heard of the baby Jesus service manger where in the children get to put in hay each time they serve each other…right? Well, I told my mother what fun we’ve had for the holidays, and she said, “Well you have Valentines right around the corner and then St. Patrick’s day after that!
I thought, yes we need something like our little manger and so what I had the children do, promptly after New Years was to cut out hearts and put them in a basket. Then, when they did a kind thing, obeyed quickly, etc, they got to put a Valentine into a Jar for Heavenly Father.
Heavenly Love Note Bonus:
While I was at Target, I couldn’t resist a few things from the dollar bins. Don’t they just ZAP you in sometimes and ZIP your money away!!
I got two little mail boxes and thought we could place one in the girl’s room and one in the boys. Well, tonight, what should flash by my eye, but a little boy who sets down a mail box and runs into his room.
I open it to find this darling little message:

Oh So Tender!!!
Original idea came from us trading a blank book back and forth giving notes to each other. I first got that idea from my cousin Ann from What I think@blogspot (she passes this notebook between she and her husband), and one time flew in an airplane with a message on it to him, idea from “How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids will Talk, suggested by my Sister Eirene.

I need one of these. I don’t shop though LOL
Great ideas.
That is a darling V-day idea! I need to get that underway just as soon as my sister and her kids’ visit is over! It might even cheer us up a bit, since it’s always a bit depressing when family leaves town, right?! In the meantime, since they haven’t even arrived, we’re focusing our efforts on getting ready! Lol. I just love all the Valentines ideas out there right now and I hope we manage to eventually get around to doing some of them…!
That just makes my mither’s heart melt! How terrific that you created a way for that little man-child of yours to share his very protected heart with you. It really doesn’t get better than that! I still have a little box with treasured notes from kidlets–I promise, you’ll want to keep that one forever.
Good idea, Em. Oh, man–that note from Rawl! It doesn’t get better than that! And ahhh, the yellow book. It’s been too long since I’ve had it out. Thanks for the reminder!
